Orisure (l): Directions for use

Contains
Orius laevigatus as adults and nymphs in buckwheat shell and vermiculite carrier.  Unit: 500 in 100ml bottle.

Target Pest
Thrips species, including western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis) and onion thrips (Thrips tabaci).  Also feeds on a range of small insects, mites and pollen.

Instructions

Release early morning or evening when vents are closed.

Lay bottle horizontally and gently rotate to evenly mix Orius through the carrier before release.

Distribute evenly through the crop onto the leaves.  Continue to gently rotate the bottle during distribution.

Introduction Rates
0.25 per m2 for four introductions, or one introduction of 1 per m2 (crops with available pollen).  Higher rates may be necessary into hot spots.

Conditions
Diapause induced when day lengths are below 10 hours.

Storage
» Preferably use on day of receipt or within 1 day if stored in darkness at 10-12°C.

Technical Information
Orius laevigatus belongs to the Anthocorid family.  Both adults and nymphs feed on larvae and adult thrips by piercing and sucking out the contents.
