Introduction Rates
Can be used preventatively at a rate of 0.5-1 per m2 every 1-2 weeks. When whiteflies are present increase the rate to 2-3 per m2 weekly, for 4 introductions or until parasitism is sufficient. If preventative and light infestation rates have been used then heavy pest infestations are less likely but if they do occur the rate can be increased to 10 per m2, again for 4 introductions. Adult females are lemon-yellow, whilst males are brownish-yellow. Female wasps are very mobile and prefer to lay single eggs beneath second or third instar larvae of whitefly. The parasitised pupae turn yellow. Adults also feed on whitefly scales It is recommended that Eretmocerus is used in combination with Encarsia.
