Introduction Rates The choice of DACSURE (si), DIGSURE (i) or a combination of both will be determined by several factors including crop, level of mines, time of year and in an ongoing programme, the level of parasitism. Please seek advice from BCP. Conditions Dacnusa are usually introduced during winter and spring months onto low levels of mines. Control can break down in hot sunny conditions during summer. Diglyphus can be introduced at any time of year with the timing of introduction being determined by the level of mines. If there are sufficient mines Diglyphus will establish during the winter. Storage » Preferably use on the day of receipt or within 2 days if stored at 6-10°C. Technical Information Diglyphus are smaller parasites about 1-2 mm in length. They are metallic green with short antennae. Diglyphus paralyse and then lay 1-3 eggs along side the leafminer larvae. The larvae hatch and feed externally on the leafminer. Diglyphus will also kill leafminer by host feeding.
