Introduction Rates Rate of introduction will depend on level of infestation and type of crop. As a guide introduce between 1-2 per m2 as a preventative measure every 3 weeks. 6 per m2 for one application as a general measure and 20 per m2 into hot spots. When treating outbreaks, always treat immediately surrounding leaves and plants as well.
Conditions Is active at temperatures from 8oC to 35oC and can be applied outdoors. Storage » Use within 24hrs of receipt and keep at 8-10°C. Technical Information Looks similar to Amblyseius cucumeris. Is very pale yellow-orangish in colour and pear shaped. Unlike Phytoseiulus persimilis, A. californicus can be introduced preventatively, can survive longer without food and is better in hot, dry conditions. It will not control large outbreaks of spider except at high release rates and is best used preventatively or in conjunction with Phytoseiulus.
