Introduction Rates The first introduction should be made even before thrips are seen especially on crops at risk because the predator will only attack young thrips stages.
Cucumbers: 1 pack per 1-3 plants every 4-6 weeks. Peppers: 1 pack per 3-6 plants. One introduction may only be needed because of the pollen food source available. Ornamentals: 1-2 packs per m2 every 4-6 weeks. 3-8 packs per m2 every 4-6 weeks when thrips increase. Conditions Amblyseius cucumeris work best where relative humidity exceeds 70% for periods of the day and temperatures are above 18°C. Storage » Preferably use on the day of receipt or within 2 days if stored at 18°C and 85% relative humidity. Technical Information This active predatory mite is pinky brown and pear shaped, with adults about 0.5mm in length. Each AMBSURE (abs) pack is a small Amblyseius breeding system designed to release the predators onto the crop over several weeks.
